Cat's Threat to Knock Over Cup Intensifies
BLOOMINGTON, IN. - A standoff between local cat owner, Michele Walsh, and her domestic tabby, Bubbles, quietly threatening to knock over a cup of water sitting on the kitchen counter, has recently hit the four-hour mark, Walsh confirmed.
“He better not do it,” notes Walsh, noticeably on edge. “He does this almost every day. It’s just exhausting having to constantly clean up after him. And he definitely knows better. You can see it in his eyes, he knows exactly what he’s doing!”
Bubble’s threats have ranged from lightly tapping on the cup with his paw, eliciting a shout from Walsh that returned them to their stalemate, to suspiciously positioned naps next to the cup.
“She’s right, you know,” Bubbles commented. “Of course I know exactly what I’m doing. But here’s the thing, the spilling the cup isn’t even the best part, it’s the tormenting almost spilling that really gives me joy. Her thinking I’m about to do it, then I don’t. That’s the real best part.”
While the cup seems safe at the moment, Bubbles recently began scratching his head using the leg of the table nearest to the corner where the cup is about to fall over, thus continuing to torture Walsh from a new angle.
