Police Dog Has No Idea She Has A Job
MONTPELIER, VT - 4 year old German Shepherd, Ridley, has been confirmed to be unaware she has a job with the Vermont State Police K9 Unit.
“She’s definitely just as important as any other member of the force,” commented Lieutenant Todd Stevens, a human being conscious of the larger purpose his job has in society. “Everyday Ridley is out in the field proud to be protecting lives, but clearly doesn’t even realize. She’s just that good, she helps without even realizing this is an position of employment. She’s the best!”
While Ridley is in fact incapable of feeling pride in her work, she does feel immense joy and satisfaction in the pets and praise she receives for completing the perilous duties she interprets as games.
“I never even questioned it,” Ridley mentioned. “I was told to help, so I do. I’m happy to. Every once in a while, I’ll get a treat too! Sometimes they have me find icky treats, then give me good treats, but, whatever, I don’t question things.”
When asked about her most recent treat, she described it saying, “ICOULDN’TTELLWHATITWASBUTTHEYMADEMESNIFFABUNCHOFSTUFFUNTILICAMEACROSSTHISBAGOFSUGARITHINKANDNOWIREALLYJUSTWANTTOGOTOTHEPARKANDRUNAROUND.”
