NEW YORK - Gilbert Dogfried, a neighborhood puppy, successfully performed the rite of passage, the Bark Mitzvah, and is now an adult dog, sources confirm.

“It was so exciting, we got him all dressed up and everything,” Dogfried’s owner, Mary Kindler, began. “We even had a party with all his friends after, at that bar that allows dogs, so it's basically an indoor dog park. We all had fun, they chased their tails, it was great!”

Dogfried stated it was a great event, but a little too “big” for his tastes.

“I prefer a small, intimate affair, you know, just the family having a nice dinner,” he began. “I think the big party was more for my parents, but hey, they deserve it, so fine, I'll go along with it.”

Kindler denied treating the event like a second wedding reception, but several sources confirmed she actually described it that way, verbatim, throughout the entire planning process and at the event itself.

“It was for him, but why shouldn't I have a good time too, right?” Kindler added. “Eh, whatever, you're right, it was just my second wedding. I had fun though, so, whatever.”
