Dog's Fourth Birthday Party Clearly More For Owner
DRYDEN, N.Y. - Guests attending a Boston Terrier’s birthday party last weekend suspect that the affair may have been thrown more for the dog’s owner than the dog herself, according to several eyewitness accounts.
“I’ve known Brian for almost six years and I’d never seen him that excited about anything,” said neighbor Darryl Stacks. “It was kind of weird.”
The celebration, hosted by Brian Soresi, 36, was thrown in honor of his dog Olives’ fourth birthday. Party goers were quick to notice Soresi’s obsession over the finer details of the elaborate party, which included an open bar, karaoke machine, and a “wicked impressive” spread, complete with a two-tier strawberry shortcake Olive was not permitted to eat.
“It was a great party, but probably wasn’t very fun for Olive,” recalled party guest, Sasha Choi. “Brian’s building has a rule about multiple pets so no other dogs were allowed, and there were a ton of snacks but I guess Olive isn’t allowed people food so she was kind of just begging everyone for cheese all night.”
“Plus, the Gatsby theme was a little off-brand for a dog party,” Choi added. “I think Olive was scared of those feather headbands everyone had on.”
Olive, who was found resting on a bathmat far away from the commotion of the event, seemed indifferent about the affair.
“Brian took a lot of selfies with me but I really wish he gave me some of the cheese,” Olive said. “Maybe in another seven years.”
Towards the event's finish, Soresi reminded those in attendance to RSVP to his Grammy’s viewing party, supposedly planned in honor of his recently departed goldfish, Graham.
