Dog Escaping Bath Finds Self Trapped in Corner of Apartment in Record Time
CHARLESTON - Eight-year-old Staffordshire-mix, Dumpling, has set a new record for escaping the bathtub and immediately becoming trapped in a corner the next room over, a source confirms.
“I seen a lotta dogs run a lotta sprints from the bathtub to the door in my day, but this old gal really went for the record books this morning, I’ll tell you what,” said Patches, a 17-year-old orange Tabby cat, and fellow apartment resident. “If it wasn’t for that goddamn door knob she’d probably be halfway to the coast by now.”
Dumpling was said to have made it out of the tub and into a far corner near the front door of her owner Justin’s apartment in an impressive 6.32 seconds, beating the previous time of 7.9 seconds, held by Moscow, Russia poodle, Medved. Dumpling celebrated her victory by forcing Justin to carry her soaking wet, 62 pound body back to the bathroom where they would resume her scheduled bath.
“It’s truly an honor and an achievement,” Dumpling said. “I’ve been working really hard to make Justin’s life unnecessarily harder than it needs to be, so to think that I was able to set a record and delay my inevitable bath by 15 seconds in doing so sure does mean the world to me.”
At press time, Dumpling was overheard ignoring Justin’s pleas to not shake soapy dirt water all over the entire bathroom.
