Dog Beanie Baby Worth $9,999,998 Less Than Estimated
NEW YORK - Wrinkles, the infamously rare beanie baby dog, has been confirmed worth $9,999,998 less than previously estimated upon release.
“When I bought it, way back in the 90’s, I was told this is the one to hold on to. Wrinkles was super rare at the time, and was supposed to eventually be worth millions,” commented current eBay user BeanieBabiesStore69. “I tossed him up there on eBay this weekend and the highest bid is only two dollars. What do I do with that?!”
When first rolled out to the public, Wrinkles, amongst a select few others, was said to be in short supply, and thus, extremely valuable. Many children were pressured to keep said toys in mint condition for when their worth skyrockets in the future.
“This was supposed to be my kids college fund,” exclaimed BeanieBabiesStore69’s mother, Maria Harris. “We went to every store in town. This is pre-internet, so we actually went to every store in the county, in the state, looking for this dumb thing. I was told there were only a handful made, and in 20 years it would be worth enough to set us up for life. Well, it’s been 20 years, where’s my millions?! Mama wants a new car!”
While most owners are upset, several pets seem to be enjoying Wrinkles after all these years.
“I love it. That first run of beanie babies must have been really well made, cause that thing does not fall apart,” remarked BeanieBabiesStore69’s pet dog Shadow. “I have buried it, bitten into it, throw in around, it’s indestructible. Best chew toy ever.”
Shadow went on to express anxiety over the beanie baby eventually being worth a significant amount of money because, as he put it, “Oh, eff! I might have ruined his retirement fund... Oh well.”
